and Morar Highland Games |









| The
Mallaig and Morar Highland Games are a small but very popular and friendly
games. The Games always attract a
wonderful mixture of local people and people from all over the world
including Canada, Australia, America, as well as across the U.K. and
Europe. Some come to compete, others to enjoy the events, but all enjoy
the stunning scenery which is the selling point of the most beautiful part
of Scotland. In the last few years, the games have been held at Traigh
farm, Arisaig, but in 2005 the games returned to their original venue at
Morar. |
| Every
year, the games are officially opened by the Lochaber Schools Pipe Band at
12.00. |

From the
games field there are excellent views of Eigg and Rhum. Rhum is the largest of
the Small Isles and is owned by the Scottish Natural Heritage. This
beautiful, mountainous island offers much in the way of wildlife and
walking. ![]() |

| Anybody
wishing to compete at the games only has to turn up at 12 midday to
register - no prior registration necessary. Also, adults competing in the
piping or dancing events must wear traditional Highland dress and any piper may be
asked to play for dancers. On refusal the judges reserve the right to
disqualify the competitor. |
